What is BaitBaller?

Not your traditional tackle store.

What is Baitballer?

This is a great question...

One that has taken many evenings of consideration to be able to put into a simple and concise statement, because these waters run deep. At first glance it seems obvious. The BaitBaller brand is the new kid on the block in the recreational fishing industry. It is obvious that we sell fishing lures, but that is where the similarities end when it comes to comparing BaitBaller to your traditional tackle store.

You won’t find your common run of the mill, high-capacity production brands here, no Rapala, no Megabass, no Yo-Zuri. Premium handcrafted and small batch only. Instead, you will find an exclusive selection of the world’s finest small batch and premium handcrafted fishing lures from a carefully curated stable of top lure makers from around the world.

Each brand we work with and the products we stock have been painstakingly researched, tested and selected based on their exceptional performance quality and craftmanship. With the BaitBaller concept being fairly new perhaps a metaphor will help better explain the key difference between BaitBaller products vs more common brands.

Let’s take time as an example. The Casio brand produce great watches, they keep time well and are undoubtedly well made. In fact, I have a simple Casio watch that my grandmother gave me many years ago and it still works perfectly.

But would I rather it be a Rolex…of course! Who wouldn’t?

The BaitBaller brand stands for quality, it represents the true value of time, and the magic of making unforgettable memories. Imagine cruising down a beautiful scenic alpine drive, with twists and turns, each one more invigorating than the last, the scream of the Ferrari F40’s V8 twin-turbo powerhouse causing every hair to stand on end, Yeeeeeow! What a feeling, a story to be told for generations.

Now imagine the same drive in a Prius… that’s the difference… performance, quality and most of all memories.

Time is the most precious of all gifts. Being able to look back and smile, knowing you made the most of every moment is priceless, that is what BaitBaller is all about, that’s the difference.

So…What is BaitBaller?

BaitBaller is the world’s first International House of Brands, or House of Lures, if you will, for premium small batch and handcrafted fishing lures.

Founding BaitBaller

My entire life I have loved any activity related to water and the ocean. I have always loved being outdoors adventuring, exploring and fishing.

After 20+ years working in the private maritime sector, I decided that I had spent enough time looking at bust-ups through binoculars in the distance or in the reflection of windows while I cleaned them. All I ever wanted to do was get back to the dream of living on a beach somewhere, spending my days exploring new stretches of coast and chasing PB’s.

During Covid I was stuck on a little island in the Arabian Gulf. I had plenty of time on my hands, which was a good and bad thing. I was bored and over my job, I didn’t like the company I was working for, and I felt that all I was doing was watching valuable time tik by while achieving nothing.

As it was for everyone, this time in the world’s history was trying and stressful, and I was done with it. I needed something new, something inspiring and fun. So, as soon as the world opened up, I quit my job and moved to Panama, ‘The Land of Plenty Fish,’ or more accurately translated, ‘an abundance of fish.’ The etymology of this phrase is rooted in the name of a small indigenous fishing village that existed prior to the arrival of the Spanish.

Thankfully being stuck on a tiny island afforded me the luxury of being surrounded by some pretty good fishing and that's how I sent most of my off days. That and exploring the happenings within the recreational fishing industry online. As I am sure you can relate, I went down a few social media rabbit holes and found myself emersed in the exciting world of premium handcrafted fishing lures.

I was immediately struck with a thousand ideas a minute of how this could be the beginning of my next adventure! The hairs on my arms stood up and a shiver ran down my spine. This was it, this was what I was going to do. Create a platform dedicated to making these types of fishing lures more accessible for anglers and open the global market to the lure makers.
It has been two long years of planning, failing, adapting and trying again to get to this point, but finally, here we are. BaitBaller has been dreamt into existence.

We are now proudly the world’s first Luxury House of Brands for Premium Handcrafted and Small Batch Fishing Lures.

The Future.

It is early days for BaitBaller and this is a challenging phase for any new company, especially for one taking the risk of breaking new ground for a new niche within a well establishing industry loaded with big players. But we are taking this challenge head on and at full pace, no prisoners. We currently work with some really great bands including Tides Lures out of Mauritius (check out there full collection at www.tideslures.com), Kiba.Lure and Coeball.Bali, both out of Indonesia.

It is our goal to bring on new lure makes regularly, Brands like Malosi Lures, Missing At Sea, Nashy Customs, Omilu House Lures and many more, offering opportunities for growth and access to new global markets.

Beyond Lures.

Moving forward we aim to expand our product offerings to include a full range of premium and custom fishing equipment, including custom rod makers such as Garone Custom Rods, Dark Matter and top end reel brands like ZeeBaas and IRTReels.

We have tons of exciting things on the horizon so stick around and join us for the adventure of a lifetime.
